PowerPoint interaction and classmates blogs

       I really liked assignment 5. The possibilities for games and learning with an interactive PowerPoints are (in my opinion) much better than just a straight PowerPoint. Kids learn better when material is presented in multiple ways, and one of the ways I like to present things is as a game so that they are both having fun and learning. plus, with games like jeopardy, kids can work on teamwork skills to work through problems. Plus, making your own learning game instead of using a site like Quizlet or Kahoot allows for greater customization.     Sydney's blog post 7 talked about the teacher websites at the elementary school she went to and how they are set up differently. i think that sometimes teachers may set up websites for different reasons (giving assignments, communication with parents, providing review resources, etc...). Class Experience, OER, and PowerPoint

     I feel like I learned a lot in EME 2040. I am much more comfortable with PowerPoint than I was before, and I am very exited about the ability to make interactable games like jeopardy with it. I also feel like I can apply what I've learned about blogs and website creation to better communicate with parents. I may also use Canva and Word to create fliers/posters for my classroom.     I used OER to search for a life science worksheet for lower primary school. I found this one that has kids learn about pollinators, both what they do in general and what types of pollinators are in their area. i think it is a good way to both let kids learn about the environment around them and improve their internet searching skills (as they search up what pollinators are in their area). Web Design, Diigo, and Teacher Development

     I liked the web design assignment. I feel that parents now have more experience with social media and a website may be a more relatable way to give out information. It also allowed for me to customize the way it was organized. I gave it a darker theme with white lettering because i find it easier for my eyes to look at screens that aren't stark white. I also liked the ability to create a space themed site because I think it gave it some visual appeal. https://stones3rdgrade.weebly.com/      I think Diigo could be useful in a classroom because you can add notes when students have to read an online article to help direct them. It can also help students keep their notes in one place so they don't have to worry about loosing their papers. Teacher Pages and Canvas Design

       I found a page by a pre K teacher that includes a lot of helpful information such as a calendar for school events and an email parents can contact her with. She also made her page very colorful without being overwhelming and the information provided is organized. additionally, parents can find additional learning resources on her page for if their students are struggling with work at home, which i hadn't thought of before but makes a lot of sense. here is the page: https://mwe.haskellps.org/index.php?pageID=264650_4     I think as a teacher canvas will be the main form of technology I use for communication with parents and students. Diigo, Blogging, and Web 2.0

     I think Diigo can defiantly be useful in a professional setting to share information or sources. In this class I think its helpful to learn how it works, and to start doing research for when i do eventually go into a classroom as a teacher. Right now I can't really use some of the sources since I'm not a teacher yet, but i think it has helped me build a background.     A s for blogging, writing on public forums still makes me a little nervous because I am very cautious about my digital footprint and what I say online. I do like the more informal vibe of blogs though. I like being able to write in shorter stints rather that long essays.
